  • Cycle Route 22

I feeling a bit bruised and battered after falling off my bike
whilst cycling around a blind left hand bend.
Thankfully, only my pride was really hurt after getting up
with a bloody knee and elbow.

I made it into work just before 9am and grabbed a quick breakfast.
Following the H&S directive, I logged this morning's event in the
incident log 'Vehicle Accident en-route to work'.

I'm looking forward to the Risk Assessment based upon a journey of 13miles
    across Surrey A- and B- roads. >:XX

It's a shortened week, Tuesday was my regular sleepwalk care
of South-West Trains & First Connect to sunny Hertfordshire.

This morning, I crawled out of bed looking forward to cycling to
work, but NOT looking forward to arriving. Too much admin,
too much micro management, too many managers.

Anyway back to 2 wheels and cycle route 22. I was able to clear
my mind and think about some important things, whilst strolling
    to along the track.

Where do I want to live in few month's time ?

Should I reply to my ex-'s text message ?

Will Fergie select Telvez or Berbatov to play up front ?

My new replacement rear wheel seems to be okay,
    but i'm concerned about pot-holes.

  • Return to cycle route 22

I'm back after a break of 3 weeks after my poor bike suffered
from broken spokes on my rear wheel with about 11 miles of
my journey to complete. It took 2 weeks send a new wheel rim
    from Sussex to Surrey.
I have sent items of mail to Oz in a shorter time space.

Also I'm commuting by train every Monday and Tuesday to Reading or
Hatfield, so it felt good to be back in the saddle despite
    recovering from a sore throat.

I had 3 hours of sun, fields of bluebells and quiet A- roads. B)

Its Friday (TGIF) I thought I be would completely scattered after yesterday's morning ride, but I managed to maintain the pace to the office…..1hr 4mins....I was spurred on by the Chav 'white' van drive who overtook me on the open & empty B- road at 50-60 mph within arms length.
Driving at that speed, he/she is probably unaware of the many pot-holes at the edge of the ride.

I'll be looking to surprise him/her on Monday morning.>:-[

Today is a half day, so it time off in sunny Brighton and a trip to a Preston Circus bike shop for a new bell.

  • route 22 - 26032009

Last nite was a late one, on crossing the border I could see clearly see Orion's Belt. Because my front light was fading, I'm extra careful whilst on the edge of road, making sure I avoid the pot-holes/cracks in the tarmac. I'm close to home, so I push ahead regardless of the on-coming drivers, who have car lights on full beam.

This morning, I'm very tired and slow getting ready,
but I decide I'm going flat out on the Downslink rather than my usual stroll.....1 hour 5mins/13miles later, I'm standing next to my Specialized hybrid in the bike stand at work. :D
